Isolena “Hazel” Potesta Alberico, 91, passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on June 16, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, West Virginia. She was born October 10, 1923 in A Bagnoli Del Trigno, Italy, a daughter of the late Sabatino (Sam) and Emilia Potesta. She arrived in Fairmont in 1933 at 10 years of age. She attended State Street Elementary School and graduated from East Fairmont High School in 1942. Following graduation, she worked in the family’s business, Community Market, where she did the bookkeeping and accounting.

In 1952, she married Dr. Camillo Anthony Alberico, her husband of 63 years. She was an active member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish in Fairmont where she participated in the choir and served on many committees.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Constantino Potesta (Helen), a sister Carolina Potesta (Felix), and her in-laws, John G. and Anna Alberico.

In addition to her husband, Camillo Alberico, Hazel is survived by her three children; 8 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received at Ross Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Parish on Monday, June 23 with Father Robert Perriello as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
