"Wannie" married Earl Henry Endicott on August 20, 1947, and stepped in to motherhood from that day forward. Earl was recently widowed, when his first wife, Maud, died giving birth to their fifth child. That daughter died within the month.

Becoming a mother to Earl's 4 children: Melvin (Shorty), Alyce (Babe), Vergil and Carolyn Sue, Wannie and Earl soon began adding to their household, having seven children together: Edward Rae (Eddie), Terry Neal, Gayle Ann, Lonny Joe, Brian Earl (Butch), Timothy Dean (Beeper), and Deloris Ellen (Dee Dee). The Endicott family, would once more, experience tragedy with the loss of their precious Dee Dee, before she reached her 4'th birthday, as doctors had predicted when she was born.

Wanella and Earl raised their family just north of Wakenda, Missouri, at the top of the bluff. Living in a small home, it was filled with laughter, in spite of any life's struggles. In his later years, Earl was unable to work any longer because of the aftermath of a stroke. Wanella was always there for him, and at his side when he eventually succumbed. She later then moved back to the town of Wakenda, from where she grew up. Only to be set back by the flood of 1993 that destroyed the town, and her home, along with everyone else's. Made of the tough stuff, she took what was dealt her and moved forward, surrounded by the support of her loving family.

An interesting note is that Earl's son, Vergil and Wanella's younger sister, Bonnie were married. This made Bonnie to be, not only Wanella's sister, but her step-daughter-in-law. And their children, well, let's just say that they could be Step-Uncle/Double Cousin or Step-Aunt/Double Cousin at the same time. Bonnie would be both Earl's sister-in-law and his daughter-in-law. Thoughts to ponder while doing family history for generations to come.

Wannie will long be remembered for her love, wisdom, and generous ways, and forever be in the hearts of those who's lives she touched. No greater love could have been bestowed on her children (Earl's too, as she loved them same as if she'd given birth to them), and her grandchildren.
