Walter Coward Sr., 48, formerly of Hamilton Street in Schenectady died Friday, June 9, 2006 at the Stratton VA Medical Center Hospital in Albany. Walter was born on May 23, 1958 in Albany, son of Cleo and Lola Maye Coward Bouldin. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving our country from October 1976 to December 1980. Mr. Coward attended the Junior College in Albany, where he studied accounting. He was also a parishioner of the Christian Faith Church in Schenectady as well as a member of the Better American People Self Help Organization. Survivors include his former wife, Jennifer (Galloway) Coward of Neb.; one son, Walter Coward Jr. of Ky.; one brother, Cleo (late Barbara VanBuren) Coward Jr. of Auburn; one sister, Lillie Chamberlain of Niskayuna; two God-sisters, Loretta Harris of Schenectady and Diane Williams of Penn. Other survivors include a nephew, Steven Clark of Penn.; a special aunt, Rev. Dr. Bethenia L. Rouse; a special cousin, LaSheque (Charles) Beauford and his special little cousins, Brittany and Antwain Beauford. He is also survived by six aunts, three uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Emmanuel Freidens Church, 218 Nott Terrace, Schenectady on Thursday, June 15, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. Friends and relatives are invited to visit at the church from 12:00-1:00 p.m. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery will be held immediately following the church service. Everyone is welcome to attend a gathering after the burial at the church.
