Winifred was the granddaughter of early Mormon apostle Heber C. Kimball. She married: (1) Edmund Luther Butts in 1892; (2) Michael Shaughnessy in 1895; (3) Edgar Sands DeWolf in 1905; and (4) Richard Alexander Hudnut, cosmetics mogul, in 1920, whose line of cosmetics eventually merged with Warner-Lambert. Her only child was actress Natacha Rambova (Winifred Shaughnessy), second wife of Rudolph Valentino.
