They were the parents of Wallace Streng (28 Feb. 1897, Milwaukee, WI - ?) and Alwin Henry Streng (10 Dec. 1900, IL - Jun 1968).
In 1924, Chula and John were listed in the Portland, OR City Directory as living on E. 3rd N.
At the time of the 1930 U.S. Federal Census for Los Angeles, CA, Chula is listed as being present in the home of her sister-in-law, Mina Armstrong. It is unknown if Chula was living with Mina and was separated from John Streng at that time because according to the 1930 U.S. Federal Census for Portland, OR, John was living in Portland at 344 Wasco. By the time of John's Death in 1931, Chula, the informant for John's death certificate, lists her address as 344 Wasco St., the same address that appears on the certificate for John's place of residence at the time of his death.
Chula was the sister of playwright Paul Armstrong and of artist Rolf Armstrong (born John Scott Armstrong). She was the aunt of American actor Robert Armstrong ("King Kong", 1933), whose father. William N. Armstrong, was her brother.
Chula was cremated on May 5, 1945 at Pierce Bros. Crematory. The funeral home in charge was Pierce Bros., Beverly Hills, 417 N. Maple Dr.
The disposition of Chula's cremains is unknown.
