MY PATERNAL AUNT

When my paternal aunt Filomena "Minnie" Adelaide Morone was born on July 21, 1908, in Paterson, Passaic county, New Jersey, USA, her father, Dominick Morone, was 26 and her mother, Elena (Del Vecchio) Van Duren was 22. She had two sons with her husband Martin "Marty" Van Duren between 1939 and 1941, David M. Van Duren (wife Linda) and Raymond Van Duren (wife Faith).

My favorite FAVORITE memories of my Aunt Minnie and Uncle Marty was the HUGE family get togethers, especially at Christmas. There was always my Aunt Minnie's FAMOUS Italian lasagna which was two words - ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! And also her pickled cucumber/onion mix. My Uncle would always provide plenty of cold or hot apple cider, since he worked at an apple and peach orchard. During Christmas there was the largest most beautiful fire in their stone fire place in the back of the their living room. And around in the alcove also in the living room was always the biggest MOST Gorgeous Christmas tree with multi-colored lights.

Along with her husband, my pretty Aunt Minnie Van Duren was a humble but popular Bible teacher for adults, at (I believe) Fardale Trinity Baptist Church, in Franklin Lakes New Jersey.

Besides her two sons, Minnie (Morone) Van Duren left many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many many nieces and nephews.

My aunt Minnie joined her beloved husband Marty (already in Heaven) on January 4, 2000, in Boca Raton, Florida, at the age of 91, and was buried there along side her husband.

Aunt Minnie, you are Remembered and Missed and Loved. May you Rest in Peace and Happiness and Joy and Love and Laughter with Marty and our LORD JESUS in His Kingdom for all Eternity.
