Mary Reeves is the wife of "Gentleman" Jim Reeves who died in a plane crash July 31, 1964. A wonderful woman who had a natural gift of laughter. She died at 70 years of age of alzheimers disease. She married Terry Davis years later after Jim's death, and he survived her.

Mary Reeves Davis married "Gentelman" Jim Reeves, who died July 31, 1964 in a plane crash.

A wonderful woman who had a natural gift of laughter.

She died at 70 years of age of alzheimers disease.

She married Terry Davis years later after Jim's death, and Terry Davis survived her.Wife of Grand Ole Opry star, Jim Reeves. After Jim's death, she created Jim Reeves Enterprises to protect and preserve his estate and image. However, in 1996, while suffering from Alzheimer's Disease, she was allegedly duped into giving full control of Jim Reeves Enterprises to her second husband, Terry Davis, whom she married in 1969. Davis turned around and had it sold to a carnival outfit, United Shows of America, Inc., for $7.3 million. Over the last 3 years, Jim's niece and sisters have worked through the courts to reverse this sale, stating that Mary would never had done such a thing, and that upon her death, it would have been put under the control of a non-profit entity for the purpose of preserving Jim Reeves's legacy for years to come. Furthermore, although her will states that she was to be buried alongside Jim, Davis had her remains interred in a mausoleum at Spring Hill Cemetery instead.

Mary is no longer entombed at Spring Hill. The Reeves niece won the court case to have Mary's Will enforced. She was moved to the Jim Reeves Memorial Park in Carthage, TX several years ago.
