Roseann Charles Matney, 79 years old, passed away peacefully in Bedford, VA on Sunday, March 22, 2015.
Roseann was truly a servant, born in Hurley, VA on December 20, 1935 to the late George McCellan Charles and Pricey Jane Stacy Charles of Hurley, VA. She was the sixteenth child born into this family and remained in the home to take care of her parents until their deaths. A resident of Richlands, VA for the past 12 years, Mrs. Matney had made her home for the past month with her niece, Linda Charles Ratliff and husband, Bobby in Bedford, VA. Mrs. Matney was a member of the Richlands Church of Christ and was faithful to attend her church and prepared communion for the congregation every Sunday as long as she was able. She also attended Cliffield Church of Christ in Cliffield, VA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Irving Matney; brothers, Sennett, James,Wayne, Bill, Andy, Laeth, Clayton, and Raleigh; and sisters, Cora, Cosby, Mary, Pearl, and Rachel.

John Henry Charles and sister-in-law, Mary of Belfast, VA

Two Stepsons:
Danny and wife, Carolyn
Doug Matney of Tazewell

Several nieces and nephews also survive, along with a host of family and friends.

A funeral service for Roseann Charles Matney will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, VA with Rev. Tommy Tilley and Rev. Phillip Horton. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum at Claypool Hill, VA. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
