HAMILL - Albin Ekberg, 88, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 2000, at the Mid-Dakota Hospital in Chamberlain.
He was born April 18, 1912, on the family homestead west of Hamill, where he attended school at Roseland District No. 3. He farmed and ranched all his life in the Hamill area.
In 1945, he married Laurene Storms at Winner. In 1947, they moved to a farm southeast of his parents homestead. He worked in Conservation Camps in the Black Hills, picked corn and worked on the Hamill Dam.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hamill and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Winner and served on the Roseland Township Board and Hamill School Board.
In addition to his wife, survivors include four children: Doug and Lance, both of Hamill, Pam of Rapid City and Chad of Gillette, Wyo. several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a brother, Elmer of Winner.
Services were held Nov. 15, 2000, at Winner, with burial in Hamill Cemetery.
