Funeral services for Hazel F Jordan, 93, were held Sunday, Feb. 16, at 1:30 pm, at the Powell Funeral Home, North English, the Rev Larry Riegel officiating. She died Friday, Feb. 14, 1986 at the English Valley Care Center, North English, where she had resided since October, 1985. Music was provided by organist Mrs. L J Powell who accompanied Lois Axmear and Don Ridenour who sang a duet. Casket bearers were Marion Strasser, North English, Harley Cover, Cedar Rapids, Ellis Morse, Webster, Kenneth Grimm, Deep River, Eugene Merck, Montezuma, and Don Ridenour, Keswick. Interment was in the Millersburg Cemetery. Hazel Fay Jordan was born on December 28, 1892 four miles south of Ladora, the daughter of Dennis and Cina Huddleston Stoner. She attended rural school and was married to Lester E Jordan on December 25, 1913 near Ladora. They farmed for 50 years in Iowa County before moving to North English in 1963. She was a member of the North English United Methodist church.. She is survived by a daughter, Phyllis (Mrs. Dale Jones) , rural Deep River, and three grandchildren, Janice, Mrs. Donald Roller of Brooklyn, Virginia, Mrs. Edwin Koehn of North English, and Ronald Jones, Grinnell; 11 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren. Mrs. Jordan was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester in May, 1980, a brother, Lee Stoner, and two sisters, Alma Coats and Luella Stoner.
