Joseph Lantz, 77, Mount Carmel, died at 4:30 this morning in the Northumberland County Hospital, Trevorton Rd., after an illness of two weeks.
Retired for the past three years he operated a shoe shine store in Mount Carmel for many years.
A native of Italy he came to the United States when he was 24 years of age. He lived in Pittston and Wilkes Barre before moving to Mount Carmel 50 years ago. He was a member of St. Peter's Church, his wife the former Mary Cimino died in 1944.
Surviving are two sons, Angelo, of Mount Carmel, Frank, of Shamokin, four daughter, Mary Neiswender, Bloomsburg, Mrs. Rose Britch, Centralia, Mrs. Nellie Merwine, Chester and Mrs. Josephine Shervinsky, Lock Haven, five grandchildren, one great grandchild, two brothers.
