My Great Aunt Susan Brown was born Sept. 1850 in West Mahoning Township to Charles S. Brown(1811-1891) and his second wife Elizabeth Thomas(1814-1864)in West Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pa. Susan was one of four children born to Charles and Elizabeth, Two died in infancy and the other a sister Nancy Josephine(1848-1933). Charles had six other children with his first wife Jane Kirk.
Susan married John Luther Stear about 1871 in Indiana County, Pa. They had seven children together: Mary Elizabeth, Charles Henry, Harry White, David Angus, Hannah May, Luther Wesley and Cora Gertrude.
Susan and John Luther were farmers and lived out their lives in West Mahoning Township In Indiana County, Pa.
Susan died in 1935 and is laid to rest along side her husband John Luther in Smicksburg Cemetery, West Mahoning Township, Indiana County, Pa.
