William Lloyd lived in Culpeper county Virginia where he was a Tailor by trade and joined the Culpeper Minute Men to fight in the Battle of Great Bridge on Dec 9th 1775. He would soon join Daniel Morgan’s Rifle Regiment, an elite group of sharpshooters from Virginia. William enlisted in the 11th Virginia regiment and fought in the Battles of Valley Forge, Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth and the Siege of Boston. In 1779 he was honorably discharged at Fort Sullivan after full service in the Revolutionary War. After some time William moved to Jessamine county Kentucky where in 1818 he applied for a pension, which he received up until his death on May 2nd 1834.

William married Sarah Chewning of Caroline County Virginia. NOTE: I believe there are two Sarah Chewning's same age from same place.

William's parents are William Lloyd 1715-1787 and Ann Exum, they had come from Isle of Wight Virginia and moved to Onslow County North Carolina.

Note: Cemetery unknown but researching it, in the meantime people will be aware of where and when William died.
