Bud was a totally outside cat. He was born in Hickory North Carolina, to a gray striped tabby, named Clovena. He was the only kitten from the litter that we couldn't adopt out, so we moved him to our new home in Lenoir. We had him neutered, however; he still roamed. When I worked second shift, and would get home at 11:30 each night, Bud would be there to greet me. Sometimes he would jump in my car, as soon as I opened my door, and sit on my lap for a long round of petting. One night, when I got home, Bud was lying beside a big male rabbit, like they were best friends. On the weekends, when my Alan and I would sit on the back patio, Bud would sit in my lap and lick my neck. His fur was silver-grey, and his eyes were a beautiful peridot green; my birthstone. His cousin was Shorty. One night I came home and Bud wasn't there to greet me. We never saw him again. I prayed to GOD for his safety, but I knew we had coyotes. I will always love, and remember you sweetheart.
