Henry Antes, who was born December 4, 1784, at Chillisquaque, Northumberland County, Pa., married Catherine M. Foster; they had 6 children. He was for many years a well-known citizen in the mercantile business in Harrisburg, Pa., a soldier in the War of 1812-1814, clerk in the Land Department of the State, frequently a member of the borough council. A handsome marble monument has been erected to the memory of himself and wife, in a beautiful cemetery on the banks of the Susquehanna, at Harrisburg.
