Olympic Games Gold Medalist Athlete. He was a member of the 1952 United States Olympic Basketball Team which won the Gold Medal. Born Robert Earl Kenney, he attended Winfield High School and played collegiate football and basketball at the University of Kansas. Along with Clyde Lovelette, Kenney led the Jayhawks to the NCAA Championship in 1952, and during the title game against St. John's University (Queens, New York City, New York), he scored twelve points. He earned a spot on the United States Olympic Basketball Squad and recorded a 10.6 points-per-game average during during the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, Finland. He went on to work in the engineering field and real estate industry. He is a member of the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame.
