Professional Basketball Player. After playing collegiate basketball at Northeastern State University in Oklahoma, he was selected as the seventh overall pick by the Milwaukee Bucks during the 1968 NBA Draft. Paulk holds the distinction of being the first draft selection in Milwaukee Bucks' history. After missing the 1969-1970 season due to his service with the United States Military during the Vietnam War, he was acquired by the Cincinnati Royals in exchange for Hall of Fame player Oscar Robertson. During the 1970-1971 season while with Cincinnati, he produced career-highs in points with 627 and games-played with 68. In 120 regular season NBA games, he compiled 741 points at the power-forward position. After retiring from basketball, he worked as an educator with the San Diego School District. He was a charter member of the Northeastern State University Athletics Hall of Fame in 1986.
