Emil was born Jan 23, 1900 near West Fargo, where he grew up and attended school. Emil was the fourth child born to Julius and Maren Johanssen. There were several brothers: Arthur Loberg, John Loberg, George Loberg, Alfred Loberg, Olif Loberg,Carl Loberg and Hubert Loberg. He also had a sister, Martha C. Loberg. He was born on the family farm in West Fargo where he worked the farm until entering into the US Army during WWII. After his military service, he returned to the family farm. He married Birdie H Bond Oct. 5, 1942, she died Oct 31, 1942. She was the daughter of William H. S. Bond born in Canada and Genettie "Nettie" Hellickson born in Minnesota.
