I saw a kitten run under a rotting stump, when we were living in Hickory NC. I reached my hand in and pulled out a small tuxedo kitten. She was so small, she fit in the palm of my hand. I took her inside, and my son, daughter, and I fell in love. My son named her Short-round; which eventually was shortened to Shorty. Shorty was passed around a bit; first my sons cat, until he moved out, then my daughters cat, she went to college, and finally my husbands cat. One home but alot of love for one cat. Her hair felt like the purest silk. Shorty was a sleek, slim cat who could jump four feet in the air to catch flies. Sometimes she would get so excited, while being rubbed, that she would give you a good nip. Shorty was a totally inside cat from six weeks of age, until death. We loved Shorty, and will never forget her. This beautiful cat gave up after Mimi passed; you see Mimi and Shorty were very close. Shorty would even try to keep Mimi clean, after Mimi stopped cleaning herself. It rained all day today, like the sky was crying at our loss. Shorty and Mimi's graves are very close; they were close in life and death. She gave us 15years, 4months, and 8days of love and happiness. Go with God precious Shorty, you are, and will always be loved, and missed. Shorty passed from liver disease.
