He played his career as an infielder winning the American League Gold Glove in 1976 at third base as a member of the Detroit Tigers. In 1981, he was a member of the New York Yankees and appeared in the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He played in four games and batted .417 with five hits in his 12 at-bats. He died in 2000 as a pedestrian on the sidewalk in Detroit when an out of control vehicle jumped the curb and hit him.
