Annelu Grant Heaps, 85 passed away at Baptist Health Louisville on September 24, 2014.

She was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Orin and Ruth Grant. A 1949 graduate of the LDS Hospital School of Nursing, she served there as a Registered Nurse (RN) until 1962. Her nursing career continued at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, ID until 1966 then the Methodist Evangelics Hospital in Louisville until 1983, retiring from Central State Hospital in 1993. Throughout her life her favorite hobbies were knitting and needlepoint. She also enjoyed a good crossword on her iPad and was an avid fan of Downton Abbey.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Nola Grant; husband of 60 years, M. Berns Heaps; and a daughter, Corinne Barnett.

She is survived by her brother David Grant; Sons, Steve Heaps (Suzanne), James Heaps, David Heaps, Christopher Heaps (Geri); Daughters, Janet Griffo and Patricia Hensley (Bryan); and grandchildren, Jake, Alicia, Angela, Mary, Victoria, Ashley, Corey, Alex and Reagan.

Her funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Monday, September29, 2014 at Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd. Burial will follow at Louisville Memorial Gardens East. Visitation will be from 11am-1pm on Monday at the funeral home.
