Passed away at home September 19, 2014 in Lakewood, CA.

Lorraine was born in Lomita, CA to Burt and Blanch Smith and was the youngest of 4 sisters and 1 brother.

In 1954 she married George Edward Harris of Long Beach, CA. Shortly after being married they moved permanently to Lakewood, CA where they raised their two daughters Linda and Leslie

Lorraine was active in the PTA as well as the Lakewood, Paramount, and Cypress Art Association's where she excelled in water color. Lorraine entered and won numerous 1st place and Best of Show ribbons and has three of her paintings hanging in the state-of-the-art multipurpose building in Paramount, CA.

She also studied art and interior design in Pasadena, CA. She had a long and successful career as an Interior Designer working both independently and with stores such as Lloyd's of Long Beach and Carl's.

Lorraine is survived by her husband of 60 years George E. Harris, her two daughters Linda Atkins and Leslie Alcorn, her three grandchildren Ericka Atkins, Corinne Atkins, Jeffrey Alcorn and his wife Jennifer, and her great-grandchildren Alyna Atkins and Breann Alcorn.

Funeral services will be held at Cypress Forest Lawn on Thursday, September 25 at 2 p.m. Reception to follow.
