This beautiful stone depicts clasped hands, which is symbolic of a bond of love that reaches beyond the grave.

We learn from the inscription that William Taylor was only 7 months old when he passed away in November of 1887, so we know that his birth year is also 1887. We also learn the name of his sister Helen, and the names and ages of his parents.

In the 1891 Scotland Census, there is a married couple of the right ages and names, living on Crown Wynd in Auchterarder, which might be the same Taylor family memorialised on the headstone:
David Taylor, working as a dyer.
Maggie Taylor, his wife.
Ellen Taylor, aged 11. (She is named as "Helen" in the 1901 Census)
James Taylor, aged 9.
Bella Taylor, aged 6. (She is named as "Isobella" in the 1901 Census)

The gravestone is found in the Old Churchyard of Auchterarder, which is located on the corner of High Street and New School Lane. It is a small churchyard, and this particular stone is in the rear portion of the lot, beyond the WWI Memorial.
