Mr. Ahlschlager was a Chicago architect. Born in Mokena, IL, he studied engineering at a college in Valparaiso, IN and the University of Illinois. He began working in New Orleans upon graduating in 1878 and in 1880 moved to Chicago and opened his own architectural office. Among his buildings are several churches, including Holy Cross Lutheran (1886), First Immanuel Lutheran Church (1888), First German Baptist Church (1888), Concordia Evangelical (1892-93), and Pillar's Rock Baptist Church (1893), as well as residences, and warehouses.

Ahlschlager and brother of John, Charles, and Christ Ahlschlager and Mrs. L. Happ; member of Englewood lodge No. 690, A. F. & A. M.; Englewood chapter No. 176, R. A. M.; Englewood commandery No. 59, K. T.; Oriental consistory, S. P. R. S.; Maple chapter No. 90, O. E. S., and Medinah temple, A. A. O. N. M. S.

Funeral Friday, at 2:30 p. m., from Englewood Masonic temple, 6730 Wentworth-av. Burial at Oakwoods.
