Deborah graduated from Kenton city schools in May of 1969 and graduated from Bowling Green University in December of 1973. She started teaching at Upper Scioto School District in January 1974 and then began teaching in the Kenton city schools in September of 1974. She taught for 32 years before retiring in 2006.
She continued her education through these years maintaining a 4.0 GPA, raising a family, teaching and gaining a Master's plus. She worked with Raptor Rehab nursing hawks and owls. She loved bird watching and anything outdoors especially working in her flower gardens. She also enjoyed hovercrafting on the Scioto river with her husband, Harry.
Deborah loved genealogy research. She focused primarily on the families of her descendants. Her Hord lineage is (John Hord , Peter Hord, Peter Hord Jr, Nathaniel
Hord, Andrew Jackson Hord, Eugene Isadore Hord, Dalton Hord, Ray Eugene Hord, Raymond Hord, Deborah Hord Elsasser). She traveled to the places her ancestor's families lived and died, searching through the records of court houses, libraries, cemeteries and numerous other genealogy sources to gather any information she could find about them. She left an extensive collection of valuable family records.
Deborah died of cancer on September 11, 2012 at Kenton Nursing and Rehabilitation at the age of 61. She is buried in Wolf Creek Cemetery, Kenton, Hardin County, Ohio.
