Mr. Norman Hester, 93, of Crossett, who was born March 18, 1911 in Fountain Hill, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare in Crossett. A resident of Crossett for many years and a former resident of Little Rock, he was a member of the Beech Street Baptist Church.


He is survived by his wife, Lorene Jones Hester of Crossett; one son, John Hester of Little Rock ; one daughter, Joyce Keathley of Little Rock; a sister, Inez Norrell of El Dorado; five grandchildren, two-great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Merle Woods Hester, in 1984; a daughter, Norma White, in 2001; a granddaughter, Wanda White; his parents, James Robert and Magnolia Geddie Hester; two brothers, Roland and Aldon Hester; and three sisters, Adelle Hollis, Ora Phillips and Corine Binns. Funeral services were at 2 p.m., Friday, March 26, in the chapel of Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home with Rev. Reginald White officiating. Pallbearers were Bill, Dale, Brice and Brannon Hester, Gary White, Bill Phillips, Tim and Tom Norrell. Burial followed services at the Flat Creek Cemetery
