Erected by the family in loving memory of JAMES YOUNG, Farmer, Sornhill died 28 October 1913 aged 84 years and his wife JANET DUNLOP died 25 October 1859 aged 25 years; also their daughter JEANIE died 9 February 1881 aged 21 years; and his wife ANNIE BONE died 28 January 1920 aged 84 years, their son WILLIAM died at Middlethird 22 February 1938 aged 67 years, their daughter MARY died at Sornbeg 13 March 1951 aged 81 years, their son THOMAS died at Sornbeg 20 September 1955 aged 80 years; also his wife MAGGIE ANN WALLACE died 27 May 1957 aged 70 years; and their son THOMAS of West Hookhead, Strathaven accidentally killed 20 May 1967 aged 40 years, dearly loved husband of Margaret Clark, their son DAVID BONE died at Sornhill 12 June 1963 aged 85 years
