Henry M. Watson, 80 Cross
Roads Farmer, Dies Thursday

Henry M. Watson, aged 80, retired
farmer of the Cross Roads commu-
nity, near Kingsland, died Thursday
at his home. Mr. Watson had always
made his home in the county and had
engaged in farming.
He was a son of the late Jake and
Emiline Rogers Watson, and was a
member of the Cross Roads Methodist
church.
Surviving Mr. Watson are three
sons, Joe Watson of Kingsland, Lon-
zie Watson of Omask, Wash., and
Charley Watson of Louan; four dau-
ghters, Mrs. Jane Wilson and Mrs.
Corbett Key of Kingsland, Mrs. Her-
bert Ashworth of Camden and Mrs.
Murphy Windon of Bastrop; 36
grandchildren, 23 great-grandchild-
ren and one great-greatgrandchild; a
brother, Fred Watson of Holly
Springs, and a sister, Mrs. Addie
Johnson of Holly Springs.
Funeral services were conducted by
the Rev. Fread Mead of Kingsland at
the Cross Roads church Friday after-
noon. Burial was in Watson Gum Gr-
ove cemetery.
Pallbearers selected were Alva Gar-
ner, Roy Rogers, Henry Wilson, Har-
old Key, Walter Watson, Dixon Mc-
Clellan, Woodrow Wilson and Elbert
Wilson.
Rufus T. Buie Funeral Home was
in charge of funeral arrangements.
