Mrs. Lieber Dies, Rites Incomplete.
Mrs. Ben Lieber, 72, who resided at 503 Stubbs in Monroe, died at a local clinic late yesterday.
Mrs. Lieber was born in Germany, but had resided the greater part of her life in Monroe. She was the widow of Ben Lieber, prominent Monroe businessman who died 30 years ago. She was a member of Temple B'Nai Israel.
Funeral services were incomplete, but will be in charge of Mulhearn's Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lieber is survived by a son, S. K. Lieber, of Falls Church, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Hugh Mulligan, Monroe, and Mrs. Sol Kahn, Long Island, N. Y.; a sister, Miss Betty Kaufmann and a brother, Hugo Kaufmann, both of New York City, and four grandchildren.
*Obituary posted on June 13 announced interment in the Old City Cemetery.
Mina's husband, Ben Lieber ran the Lieber Oil Mill. He also opened a saloon and cafe at 209 South Grand in 1912 and though forced out of the saloon business by Prohibition, kept the cafe open until 1925. He was became a wholesaler of beverages following Prohibition. He died of cancer in 1929.
