He was born June 21, 1872 in Fayette County. He married Lue Newland who preceded him in death.
He married Emily Engle who died in 1952.
He is survived by James of Ada, Claude of Lafayette, Rt. 2; two daughters, Mrs. Sylvia Goddard of Mansfield, and Mrs Lulu Bolinger of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Newland was a retired farmer and was a member of the First Methodist Church of Ada.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p. m. at the Hanson Funeral Home with Rev Lee. M. Moore officiating. Burial will be at Willow Branch Cemetery in Waynesfield.
