Fergus News Record, Friday Sept 1, 1871 ELIZABETH IRVINE MANN at the homestead on 10 concession of East Garafraxa, on the 28th of July, the wife of James Mann, esquire age 84 years. the deceased with her husband was among the earliest settlers in that part of the Township. She was of a kind and charitable disposition and was held in respect and esteem by all who knew her. Her funeral was the largest ever seen in the locality. there being 64 teams and 90 horseman at it. Rev. R. L. Tindall of the ME Church, preached a funeral sermon about her in the Sunday morning and Rev. Robert Brown of the Congregational Church preached in the afternoon, just before the funeral service.
