Frank M Copp was born on July 1, 1874, in Lokve, Primorje-Gorski, Croatia. He married Mary Katherine Benderick on May 4, 1898, in Rutland, Illinois. They had 17 children in 31 years, of which 4 died right after birth, or were stillbirths. He came to America through Ellis Island in March 1893. He was an active Coal Miner for 27 years, along with his brothers Michael and Veness. He died January 17, 1952 in Rockford, Illinois, at the age of 76. He is survived by 13 of his 17 children, Joseph Stephen Copp, Effie LaForge, Antone Benedict Copp, Mary Elizabeth Hayes, Louis Bernard Copp, Helen Katherine Calacurcio, Emmet Francis Copp, Agatha Mary Blanchi, Elizabeth Hunter, Bernard Copp, Martha Barbara Jardine, and Robert A Copp; Grandchildren: Mrs. Geraldine Marqui, Mrs. Doris Trenkle, Betty Hayes, Richard Hayes, Carol Hayes, Aldine Calacurcio, Frank Calacurcio, John Calacurcio,Doris Calacurcio, Gerald Copp, Carol Copp, Patrick Copp, Michael Copp, David Copp, Steven Copp, and Gustaf Jardine. He will be sadly missed by his relatives. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery.
