Born in Connersville, Indiana, May 1,1937 the son of Scott and Lena Bess Reed Cooley. The seventh of seven children Cooley, as he was known to most of his friends, lived in the local area since March 1958. He was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Connally Cooley. In addition to his service in the USAF, Cooley was on the staff at Dobbins AFB for many years. He enjoyed volunteering and attending Eastwood Baptist Church, where he taught Adult Bible Study for many years. He also loved to travel.
He is survived by daughter Debbie Morrison (David); grandchildren Brittney Harkins (Jeff) and Jennifer Simpson (Tim); son Mark Cooley (Debbie); grandchildren Jessica Griffin (Jeffrey), Zach Long; and great-grandchildren Aly and Logan Simpson, Austin and Reeyce Harkins; sister Jean Moore; and brother Scott Cooley.
