William Johnson also served in the WAR OF 1812. He was a private in Captain Charles Johnson's Company, under Col. A Cheatham's Regt., West TN Militia Jan 28,1814 to May 23, 1814.

On May 20,1796, a commission composed of William Johnson Sr. and four others selected the present site of Springfield as the location of the county seat for Robertson County, Tennessee.
