Professional Football Player. For five seasons (1968 to 1972), he played at the running back position in the American and National Football Leagues with the Denver Broncos, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons. Raised in South Carolina, he attended McCormick High School where he became one of the best football players in the school's history, in addition to being an outstanding basketball player. He continued his athletics at the University of South Carolina. Selected by the Dallas Cowboys during the 13th round of the 1966 NFL Draft, he ended up with the Montreal Beavers of the Continental Football League. In 1968, he joined Denver of the AFL and after three games he was acquired by Cincinnati. Lamb was most effective on special teams as a kick returner. After leaving the NFL he played a season with the Jacksonville Sharks of the World Football League and retired in 1974. He went on to work at several jobs including running a restaurant, in addition to receiving income from his football pension. After his football years, Lamb suffered from alcohol abuse which damaged his heart and liver.
