Voncile Wilson Clay

Jennings: Funeral services will be held at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11:00 AM honoring the life of Mrs. Voncile Wilson Clay, age 87, who died Thursday, February 27, 2014. She will be laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery with Reverend Thomas Patterson officiating.

Mrs. Voncile was born in Ellisville, MS to the late Andrew and Catherine Blackwell Wilson. She was a licensed beautician for ten years. Mrs. Voncile then went into banking and retired as a bank teller after 20 years of service. She was a devout member of the First Baptist Church. She loved her church and church congregation. She always helped wherever and whenever she could. She had a kind heart and loved her family with all her heart.

Mrs. Voncile is survived by one son, Melvin Clay, Jr. (Carolyn) of Evangeline, LA; one niece, who she helped to raise, Debbie Holifield of Ellisville, MS; one brother, Rex Wilson (Doris) of Ellisville, MS; one sister, Linda Blakeney (Hubert) of Houston, TX; her loving grandchildren, Tracy Benoit (Ralph), Chris Clay (Darla), Jared Clay (Brandi) and Jeremy Clay (Angie) all four of Evangeline, LA; and her ten precious great grandchildren, Matthew Benoit, Tori Clay, Brett Clay, Clay Benoit, Victoria Clay, Brooke Clay, Zachary Clay, Bryce Clay, Katelyn Clay and Makayla Clay.

Mrs. Voncile was welcomed into heaven by her beloved family whom preceded her in death: her parents; her son, Andrew "Andy" William Clay;

The Clay family requests that visiting hours be observed at Matthews & Son Funeral Home on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 3:30 PM until 9:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, March 1st at 8 AM until the time of her services.

The Clay family would like to thank Shaunda Leckelt for the care she has given.
