Their first children were twins, Mary and Nancy "Nannie", born May 25, 1872.
Texana died June 10, 1872, as well as Mary who was buried with her in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Macon MS.
Nannie went to live with her grandparents, J.C. Williams and Nancy Forester Williams. Texana's sister, Lizzie Williams, was very close in age to Nannie (only 6 years apart in age) so they grew up together, but Lizzie was actually Nannie's aunt.
