Last Thursday, November 27, occurred the death of Michael Klapoetke at this home west of this city after an illness of brief duration. Asthma was the disease causing his death.
Mr. Klapoetke was born in Provinz Posen, Germany on September 26, 1844 and had attained the good old age of 80 year, 2 months and 1 day. In 1856 he came to this country and practically made his home since on the farm west of Princeton. He was united in marriage with Rosa Heller in 1878. To his union 7 children were born: Mrs. John Jacob, Portage; Mrs. Frank Krafczak and John of Princeton. Four children preceded him during the diphtheria epidemic in 1881.
Mr. Klapoetke was well known throughout the entire community. Among us all he always ranked as a man of sympathy, a kind neighbor, devoted husband and father and a true friend. His affection for friends and kindred was tender abiding.
The funeral services were held at the St. John's Catholic church last Monday forenoon. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Father Thos. Jankowski, his pastor, officiated.
He leaves to mourn his death his aged wife, three children, besides relatives, and many friends.
