Catherine Louise Curtis, a former Wellington woman, died Tuesday, February 14, in a Plainview hospital. She was 64 years of age and will be remembered here as Catherine Austin.

Mrs. Curtis moved to Briscoe County in 1979 from Amarillo. She also lived at Tulia after leaving Wellington.

She married E. W. Curtis in 1961 at Tulia.

At the time of her death, she was a housewife. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she was active before becoming ill. She graduated from Wellington High School with the Class of 1940. She was also active in Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Curtis lived in Wellington most of her life and attended school here. She was employed at Parsons Drug.

Survivors include her husband, E. W. Curtis, a son, Jimmy Cummings of Sioux City, Iowa; two daughters, Glenda Morrison of Odessa and Pam Nease of Silverton; three sisters, Mrs. Modena Horton of Wellington, Mrs. Dorothy Jones of Amarillo and Mrs. Ella Mae Martin of Crowell; three brothers, T. D. Austin of Lubbock, J. C. Austin and Jerry Austin, both of Plainview; 8 grandchildren and one great-grandson.
