Mrs. Edna Turnbull, 54, of Modale, Iowa, died Tuesday night in St. Joseph Hospital, Omaha. The body is at the Hennessey and Van Cleave Chapel in Missouri Valley and will remain there until 1 pm Friday when it will be taken to the Methodist Church in Modale where services will be held at 2 pm. The Rev. Herbert Gould will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Missouri Valley. Mrs. Turnbull was born Aug. 27, 1905 at Gainesville, Texas. She moved with her family to Atoka, Okla. At an early age and grew up there. She was the daughter of Gus and Pearl Stevens Umsted. She had been a resident of Modale for the past 20 years. For the past few years she had operated the Koffee Kottage in Modale. She died after a brief illness. She entered the hospital Sunday evening. Mrs. Turnbull is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bernard Epperson of Missouri Valley; her father, Gus Umstead of Atoka, Okla. Two sisters, Mrs Lucille Blackburn and Mrs. Verna Mayo of Atoka and two brothers, Earl Umstead of Durant, Okla. And Jesse Umstead of Smithville, Okla. A daughter, Mildred, died in 1933
