Cathy Amason, 82 of Magnolia, Arkansas passed away Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Magnolia City Hospital.

She was born March 12, 1927 in El Dorado, Arkansas to the late Elmer Jay Brown, Sr., and Norma Leone Calvert Brown. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Board member of the Columbia County Animal Protection Society, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Dames of Magna Carta, and the regional sales manager for the Sarah Coventry Jewelry for a number of years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charlie N. Amason, and a sister, Ava Ellen Brown McLain.

Cathy is survived by her two sons, Ned Amason of Village, Arkansas, Bruce Amason and his wife Dee of Denton, Texas; brother, Elmer Jay Brown, Jr., of McNeil, Arkansas;
granddaughter, Tamara Freeman of Shreveport, Louisiana; four grandsons, Glen Amason of Denton, Texas, Jeff Amason of Carrollton, Texas, Mike Amason and Tim Amason both of Denton, Texas; three great grandsons, Miquel Amason and David Amason both of Carrollton, Texas, Jackson Amason of Denton, Texas; and three great granddaughters, Libby Amason, Andi Amason, and Charlee Amason all of Denton, Texas.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 26, 2009 at 11:00 am at Immanuel Baptist Church with Bro. Steven McAbee officiating. Burial will follow at Brown Family Cemetery in McNeil, Arkansas
