Sammy Devine, age 57, 325 Bradley Lane, Harrodsburg, husband of Linda Carol Sherrow Devine, died Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at the Samaritan Hospital in Lexington after a brief illness.

Born January 7, 1947 in Washington County, he was the son of the late Julius and Sarah Frances Montgomery Devine, a self-employed carpenter, and member of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors besides his wife include: one son, Brian Devine, Harrodsburg, one brother Charles Devine, Washington Co., one nephew and two nieces.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Saturday, February 7th at the Ransdell Funeral Chapel by Rev. Greg Humpert and Rev. Don Reed. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Kevin Devine, Ronnie Montgomery, Hilbert Mayes, Jeffery and Todd Pinkston, David Moore, David Abrams and David Peavler. Honorary bearers are Kermit and J.W. Logue, members of his Sunday School Class and Deacons of the Bruner’s Chapel Baptist Church.

Visitation will be after 4:00 pm Friday and after 7:30 am Saturday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Gideon’s International, Post Office Box 176, Harrodsburg, KY.
