Former Staten Islander Frances Giunti Praino, 93, of Monroe, New Jersey, a retired seamstress who was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, died Sunday at her home.

Born in Italy, she immigrated to the United States in 1927, moving to Manhattan. She also lived in The Bronx before moving to Grant City in 1966. She settled in Monroe in 2012.

She most loved spending time with her family.

While living on the Island, Mrs. Giunti Praino was a parishioner of Holy Child R.C. Church, Eltingville.

Her first husband, Angelo Guinti, died in 1982. Her second husband, Vincent Praino, died in 2010. She also was preceded in death by her son, Ralph, in 1995.

Surviving are her son, Frank; her daughter, Theresa Calciano; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held on Thursday from the Colonial Funeral Home, New Dorp, with a mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Margaret Mary R.C. Church, Midland Beach.
Burial will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, West Brighton.
