Immigrated in 1856 with wife Christena and 5 sons. Paid cash for 40 acres north of Lewiston, just south of the Silo church. By 1860 each son had his own parcel of farm land. The 1860 census reported a vacant house on the parcel that son Christian was building for his new bride.
