My Mother was a strong, kind and caring person.By the time I was 8, my Mom was a single parent of 3.My Mom worked so hard to provide for us and never complained. We never had much but we always had enough. In 1980, Mom had a mitral valve inplant put in her heart, at the age of 34, Mom's heart would "tick" with every heartbeat and that is how we would check on her at night.
Mom had her cat Brandie always around her an loved that spoiled thing so much, after her operation, Brandie jumped right on her chest the minute she got home, she never complained and just hugged him.
Mom worked hard even after the operation, she instilled values on us and never got any credit for it.This wonderful woman fought everyday to stay alive for her kids.
Mom was in the Peace Corp after school and I rember the stories she used to tell. She also had 3 stepchildren. In 1990, she suffered a stroke while sleeping,my husband and I had her heleported to Erie to get treatment, after she came out of her coma she was paralized, but managed a smile especially for my husband.Complications set in and she lost her fight.I can never thank her for all she has done, but I can love her and keep her memory alive and honor her everyday. Besides me she left behind a son Raymond and a daughter Audrey,Both with kind souls just like Mom.Thank you so much Rachel for sponsoring my Mom, God bless you. Also my thanks to Alan Brownsten for the photos of Mom's grave, thank you and God bless.
