Newell to Henry and Minnie
(Manske) Beckfield. She attended a
Coon Township Grade School and
the Newell High School. Bernice
married Robert Eldon Lewis in
1942. He died in 1961. She then
married John (Buzz) E. Snyder April
29, 1963. The two were active in the
restaurant business, owning and
operating a restaurant in Milford.
They then retired in Royal, where
they lived for 17 years. The two
moved to the Sioux Rapids
Retirement Home February 1991.
She was a member of the First
United Church, Sioux Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her
parents; two sisters — Alvena
Appel and Edith Franzmeier; and
two brothers — Herman and Edgar
Beckfield.
