Both grew up in Budapest during the darkest days of WWII, and married in 1952. They eventually escaped to the United States during the Hungarian Revolution of 1956, settling in the Washington, DC area in 1957.
Laszlo worked at Catholic University and Gillette Research.
Laszlo enjoyed collecting old movies, making home movies, flying and boating. He and Iren could often be found at the Kennedy Center enjoying the lively arts.
Laszlo is survived by:
his wife, Iren Gregor Hogye,
his nephew, Michael Hogye and family of Burke, VA,
his nephew, Stephen Hogye and family of Annandale, VA,
his niece, Klara Gregor Ellsworth and family of Lewes, DE.
A memorial service and reception will be held at National Memorial Park Funeral Home, Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 1300 hrs.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hungarian Reformed Church of Washington, DC, P O Box 21, 4500 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20016.
