Clara Chirco Ferrara Cavataio was born November 11, 1901 in New Orleans, LA to Francis Paul and Clara Chirco. When she was an infant, the family moved to San Jose, CA, where she spent her entire 104 years. She entered into rest April 14, 2006.Clara was an avid and accomplished gardener whose garden was featured in the San Jose Mercury News. She was also a fantastic cook and her recipes will be enjoyed for many generations to come. Clara was quite simply a remarkable woman; she was the matriarch of a family on its fourth generation in the Santa Clara Valley.She is preceded in death by her husbands Joseph Ferrara and Frank Cavataio, as well as her siblings, Dominic, Louise, Ben, Catherine, Sam, Rose, Josephine and Anna. Clara is survived by her son Robert (Marie) Ferrara and daughters Anna (B. John) Talia and Jacqueline Burt. She is grandmother to Glenn (Tawnie) Ferrara, Karen (George) Gutierrez, Mitchell (Roben) Talia, Mark Talia, Michael Talia, Carol (Jerry) Marquez, Teri (Don) Phillips, John (Jennifer) Talia, Kristi (Mike) Becher, Mary (Mike) Wilson, Kenny Burt, and JoAnn (John) Siefert. 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great- great-grandchild survive her as well.Friends are invited to attend the vigil, Thursday, April 20, 2006, 7:00 p.m. at LIMA FAMILY SANTA CLARA, 466 N. Winchester Blvd. and the Funeral Mass at St. Justin's Catholic Church, Friday, April 21, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Santa Clara Mission Cemetery. .
