Margie Fugitt Childress, 90, of the White Rock community died Oct. 27, 2013, at Leonard Manor in Leonard.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Ed Lee and Rev. Jay Henderson officiating. Burial will be in Celeste Cemetery.

Visitation will be today 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Childress was born in Merit, Sept. 3, 1923. She was the daughter of Robert E. and Mary Sena Dutton Fugitt. She married Charles J. Childress in Merit on Jan. 3, 1942. She worked at Love Manufacturing and Shirey Factory Outlet.

Mrs. Childress was a long-time member of White Rock United Methodist Church.

Survivors include sons, Ronnie Childress of Celeste and Harry Childress and wife, Kay of Celeste; daughter, Charlsey Tidwell of Celeste; brothers, Gene Fugitt of Royse City and Bobby Fugitt of Greenville; sister, Mary Tome of Cudahy, Wis.; grandchildren, Brad Nichols and wife, Barbi, Terry Childress, Amy Childress, Gina Allen and husband, Don, Kristi Roberts and Staci Stewart; and great-grandchildren, Regan, Keith and Lily Allen, Zach, Zane and Zoie Nichols, Dalton Childress, Dillan Krodle, and Jack and Ava Stewart.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sons-in-law, Dan Nichols and Ronnie Tidwell; brothers, Lee, Charles, Gilbert, Preston and Wilbur Fugitt.

Pallbearers will be Dr. George Childress, David Fugitt, Jeff Fugitt, Bob Barnard, Larry Tome, and Chris Barnard.

The family requests memorials be made to Celeste/Hogeye Cemetery Association or Alzheimer's Association.
