Nellie Marr Clark, age 96, of Heber Springs, Arkansas, passed away at her home on Monday, April 18, 2005. Born in Shiloh, Arkansas, on January 14, 1909, she was the daughter of the late William and Annie Stark Marr. A lifetime resident of Cleburne County, Mrs. Clark was a school teacher for several years, and she taught in rural schools with her husband, James N. Clark. Her husband preceded her in death in 1964. Mrs. Clark raised her family in the Mt. Olive Baptist Church at Valley Special and always loved seeing the young people from that area when they came home to visit. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Heber Springs. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Clark was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James V. Clark, two daughters, Marnelle Mays and infant Jan Clark; two sons-in-law, Glenn Phillips and Herschel Mays; three brothers, Maynos, Neil, and John Marr; and three sisters, Kate Murphree, Hannah Walters, and Ina Sneed. She is survived by one son, John Clark and his wife, Kaye; one daughter, Ann Goff and her husband, Bill; daughter-in-law, Jean Clark; one brother, Edd Marr and his wife, Swannie; two sisters, Hope Brooks and Leone Poole; sisters-in-law, Callie Marr and Leatha Marr twelve grandchildren, Danny Phillips, Glenda Edwards, Kimla Yates, Kerri Hladky, Judith Kraay, Rhonda Henderson, Vonda Stepp, Gary Mays, Michael Mays, Janet Edwards, Wayne Clark, and Arden Clark; twenty-one great-grandchildren, and eleven great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Clark is also survived by other relatives and her many friends.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. in the Olmstead Chapel with Dr. J. R. DeBusk officiating. Arrangements are by Olmstead Funeral Home, Inc.
